The trial for Jose Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant accused of killing Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, has begun in Athens-Clarke County Superior Court. Ibarra is charged with murder and other crimes in connection with Riley’s brutal killing, which occurred in February. Prosecutors allege that Ibarra attacked Riley when she refused to be his rape victim, resulting in her death from multiple blows to the head with a rock.

Juhl: Will Santa's letters to children be delayed by the strike at Canada Post?
Santa has a history of supporting unions since the Great Elven Uprising of 1884. Despite the Canada Post strike, he is expected to be prepared with pen and paper when letters from Canadian children start arriving in mid-November.
