SINGAPORE: Container throughput in Singapore increased by 6.1% in the first four months of the year, reaching 14.18 million TEUs, despite global trade uncertainties and tariff pauses. Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat emphasized the need for Singapore’s port to adapt to changing supply chains and highlighted that PSA will hire over 2,500 staff to support operations at the expanding Tuas Port, which aims for a capacity of 65 million TEUs by the 2040s.
