The Nova Scotia Police Review Board has cleared Cpl. Derek Hebert of the Amherst Police Department of allegations made by Thomas Everett, a known “cop hater,” who claimed he was stalked and ticketed for chirping his truck tires during a traffic stop in July 2023. The board found no evidence supporting Everett’s claims and determined that Hebert’s actions were appropriate and not influenced by Everett’s past protest activities.
