Three hundred Moldovan priests went on a “free pilgrimage” to Russia

Over three hundred Moldovan priests were sponsored by Ilon Shor, a former politician and banker convicted of fraud, to go on a pilgrimage to Moscow with all expenses covered. The clergy organized the trip on Viber, with Shor being named as the event’s sponsor by Moldovan media. Shor, who fled to Russia in 2023 and recently obtained Russian citizenship, has been linked to several trusted individuals in each diocese of the Moldovan Metropolitanate (MP).
