Tourism and Transport Forum Australia CEO Margy Osmond notes a shift towards shorter trips, dining at cheaper restaurants, and younger generations booking on a whim due to financial pressure. The trend towards last-minute bookings is impacting tourism operators, while ‘staycations’ and domestic travel are favored by many Australians, with cost of living pressures affecting New Year’s Eve celebrations for over a third of respondents.
