The QUAD – or Most of it – Has Little Wish to Challenge China

Born in 2007, the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, consisting of the US, Japan, India, and Australia, continues to struggle for growth as a counterweight to China in the Asia Pacific. Despite US President Joe Biden’s efforts to strengthen the alliance in his last summit as host, the group faces challenges in presenting a united front. Biden hoped for a more cohesive diplomatic approach, but the Quad’s effectiveness remains uncertain.
