At least three police officers were killed and six injured in an attack by militants on a check post in Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is suspected to be behind the assault, which marks an escalation in militant violence in the region, with numerous attacks targeting security forces and officials in recent weeks, resulting in a high number of casualties. The year 2024 has been described as the deadliest for security forces in a decade, with an increase in terror attacks, targeted killings, and kidnappings in the provinces of KP and Balochistan.
