Gearbox Software’s Borderlands community is rallying around a fan named Caleb McAlpine, who has terminal cancer and hopes to play Borderlands 4 before time runs out. After reaching out on Reddit, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has promised to make it happen, continuing the tradition of fulfilling terminally ill fans’ wishes, as seen in previous instances with Borderlands 3 and Borderlands 2. A GoFundMe has also been launched to support McAlpine’s cause, showcasing the positive impact of gaming communities coming together in times of need.
