Tennessee man with heart device to be executed despite concerns it may shock him

A Tennessee death row inmate, Byron Black, is set to be executed by lethal injection despite concerns from his lawyers that his heart device could cause him unconstitutional suffering during the process. The U.S. Supreme Court and Governor Bill Lee declined to intervene, and while a lower court had ruled for the device’s deactivation, the Tennessee Supreme Court overturned it, allowing the execution to proceed.
