The National Transport Authority (NTA) has approved a 9% increase in taxi fares, effective December 1st, due to rising operating costs. The NTA cited a 9-11% increase in taxi operating costs from 2022 to 2024 as the reason for the fare hike. Additionally, the NTA has extended special rates for taxis in line with the new national maximum fare rate.
