A taxi driver in Singapore, Ng Ian Huat, was sentenced to five months and two weeks in jail for careless driving after fatally hitting 76-year-old Ang Mie Jen, who was crossing the road on December 10, 2023. Ng failed to notice her while making a right turn at a traffic junction, despite evidence that she had the right of way. The court considered his guilty plea in the sentencing, with Ng also disqualified from driving for eight years.
