In response to the widespread floods in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan has sent humanitarian assistance, as reported by Trend.
The Committee of Emergency Situations in Tajikistan reported that 3,500 tons of cargo were sent to Kazakhstan. This assistance will be delivered using 61 railway wagons and 13 freight trucks.
Flooding in Kazakhstan started in March, prompting the declaration of a state of emergency in eight regions. Rescue operations involving tens of thousands of individuals have led to the evacuation of over 115,000 people since the floods began.
President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan had previously instructed the government to urgently organize the provision of humanitarian aid to Kazakhstan.
