Syria’s Sharaa expected to address UN in New York in September

Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa is set to speak at the U.N. General Assembly in September, as confirmed by a Syrian official. Previously aligned with al Qaeda, Sharaa met with U.S. President Donald Trump in May 2023 to discuss lifting sanctions on Syria.
