Travis Timmerman, a young Missouri man, was freed from a Syrian prison and handed over to U.S. forces near the Syrian border with Iraq and Jordan. He was held in detention for seven months and had entered Syria from Lebanon. Timmerman, known as Pete Timmerman to Missouri authorities, confirmed his identity as Travis before being welcomed home by U.S. special forces.
