Syrian authorities have successfully evacuated and closed down the al-Hol camp, which previously housed relatives of alleged ISIL members. The last residents were sent out in a convoy, with around 24,000 people being relocated, including Syrians, Iraqis, and foreigners from 40 different nationalities. The camp’s detainees, mostly women and children, have been moved to various locations, with the future of the Roj camp, housing more relatives of suspected ISIL members, still uncertain.
