How does this make you feel?

More than 70% of Americans believe that having a rewarding career or job is crucial for a fulfilling life, even more so than family, friends, or wealth. In a series called Unique jobs, extraordinary lives, CBS News interviewed various workers who have chosen unconventional careers.

Andrew Boese, a 38-year-old music enthusiast from Arizona, has adopted the personas of different characters as part of his job. He works as a ghostwriter for Vida Select, a company that manages online dating profiles for individuals seeking new relationships.

Boese finds his work emotionally fulfilling and creatively satisfying. He enjoys the flexibility of setting his own hours and working remotely, allowing him to immerse himself in the communication styles and dating preferences of his clients.

Vida Select was founded by Scott Valdez, who recognized the need for outsourcing online dating due to personal challenges. The company now has over 100 employees managing clients’ dating accounts and interactions to facilitate potential relationships.

Ghostwriters like Boese spend hours crafting bios and messages on behalf of clients, aiming to create authentic connections online that could lead to offline relationships. Despite the challenges, Boese finds joy in helping clients find love and satisfaction in his work.

While the matchmaking industry is lucrative, with high-end matchmakers charging substantial fees, Vida Select aims to provide a personalized and affordable service for its clients. Ghostwriters like Boese strive to embody their clients’ personalities and preferences to create successful matches.

Boese, who enjoys writing for diverse clients, finds fulfillment in helping divorced men in their 40s and 50s navigate the dating world. His ultimate goal is to make the dating experience easier for his clients and help them find happiness.

Overall, Boese and the Vida Select team are dedicated to creating meaningful connections that could lead to long-lasting relationships. Despite the challenges, they find satisfaction in knowing that their work has helped clients find love and happiness.
