Windsor customs officials seized eight kilograms of the controlled substance khat from two separate courier shipments at the Ambassador Bridge, a flowering shrub chewed for its euphoric-like effect. This seizure is part of a larger investigation involving Toronto police, where CBSA agents seized 475 kilograms of cocaine in January as part of Project Castillo, making it the largest cocaine bust in the city’s history. The Windsor seizure was deemed a significant contribution to the ongoing investigation by officials.
