Suspect in Martin Salinger murder in Cloverhill prison was a ‘ticking time bomb’ behind bars

In a major security operation, the chief suspect in the murder of Martin Salinger at Cloverhill Prison was transferred to a specialist unit in the Midlands Prison by eight officers from the National Violence Reduction Unit (NVRU). These officers are specially trained to handle the country’s most violent inmates. The murder suspect was removed from his isolation cell this afternoon, under the supervision of the NVRU officers.
