A surfing hotspot in the South West, Redgate Beach, has become the 10,000th location to host a defibrillator as part of St John WA’s State Defibrillator Network. This 24/7 accessible AED, secured through collaboration with Margaret River Surf Life Saving, aims to aid those experiencing cardiac arrest, particularly given the beach’s distance from town and its popularity among unprepared holiday-makers. The device was donated by the St John Margaret River Sub Centre, with MRSLSC providing the secure cabinet. Local volunteers emphasize the importance of this life-saving resource for community safety amidst the region’s dangerous coastline.
