The ACLU has urgently appealed to the US Supreme Court to halt the imminent deportation of Venezuelan men detained in Texas, who were labeled as members of the Tren de Aragua gang without proper judicial review. In an emergency filing, the ACLU reported that detainees were misinformed about their rights and faced immediate removals under the Alien Enemies Act, contradicting previous court rulings requiring a chance for legal contestation. Federal judges in other states have blocked such deportations, but no similar order has been issued for the Texas facility, prompting the ACLU to seek intervention.
