On International Women’s Day, Asian Scientist Magazine showcases six women scientists in Asia who were honored in 2024 for their groundbreaking research, community service, and leadership. Among them are Nieng Yan from China for her work on membrane proteins, Hairong Lyu from Hong Kong for her innovative approach to drug discovery, Farwiza Farhan from Indonesia for her conservation efforts, Purnima Devi Barman from India for protecting the Greater Adjutant Stork, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong from Vietnam for her advocacy for Agent Orange victims, and Bin Liu from Singapore for her research on organic semiconductors.
