In the horror film Undertone, Evy (Nina Kiri), a host of a paranormal podcast, cares for her catatonic mother while grappling with isolation. Her skepticism is challenged when she receives disturbing audio files that lead to increasingly strange occurrences. Despite some heavy-handed dialogue, the film’s sound design and atmosphere create genuine scares. Writer-director Ian Tuason’s debut effectively explores themes of solitude and madness through Evy’s haunting experiences.
