Summer McIntosh set a U.S. Open record in the women’s 200-metre butterfly with a time of 2:02.62 in Austin, Texas, under coach Bob Bowman. The 19-year-old, a three-time world champion, also recorded the fastest time in an American pool for the 400 freestyle earlier in the week. Fellow Canadians excelled as well, with Ilya Kharun winning the men’s 50 fly, and Mary-Sophie Harvey claiming silver in the women’s 50 fly after winning gold in the 400 IM.
