Sudan’s army accused of ethnic killings after recapturing strategic city

In Taiba, Gezira state, Majd Montesser witnessed Sudanese army forces raiding his village, setting homes on fire, and shooting and killing young men and the elderly. Graphic photos shared by Montesser, though unverified, support witness testimonies of the brutal attacks, with most victims being shot in the head and chest or burned alive. Montesser’s uncle was among the 17 people killed, with 13 murdered in their homes and four shot while fleeing, in what he described as a savage massacre.
