A 27-year-old Chinese university student was rescued twice from Mount Fuji in four days while attempting to retrieve his mobile phone during the off-season. Initially rescued by helicopter after losing his crampons, he returned to the mountain but was found again by another hiker suffering from altitude sickness. Despite official warnings against off-season climbs due to dangerous conditions, some criticized him for his actions, questioning whether he should reimburse emergency services for the rescues.
