Stress and Obesity Could Be Linked, Study Suggests

A recent study from Rutgers University found that stress may be the reason why people with obesity are more likely to develop metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes. The study showed that stress hormones caused by overeating can lead to insulin resistance, a precursor to diabetes. This research suggests that targeting stress hormones rather than insulin directly could be a new approach to treating diabetes in the future.
