This Christmas and New Year’s holiday period is expected to be the busiest on record, with over 122 million people projected to travel between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1, a 2.2% increase from last year. Air travel is expected to increase by 2.3%, with Florida, Southern California, and Hawaii as top destinations. Road travel is anticipated to rise by 2%, with the weekend before Christmas and the day after Christmas expected to be especially busy. Gas prices have dropped to $2.79 per gallon, providing some relief for drivers.
