Fraternity chapter shut down after hazing incident injures student

A fraternity chapter at Rutgers University in New Jersey has been closed following an alleged hazing incident that left a 19-year-old student critically injured after coming into contact with electricity on October 15. The national fraternity organization, Alpha Sigma Phi, has suspended the chapter and stated that all involved members will be permanently expelled, while the investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is ongoing.
