A federal judge has temporarily paused discovery in the wrongful deportation case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia for seven days, following a request from the Trump administration. Judge Paula Xinis previously ordered the government to provide detailed answers regarding Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador, despite a court order barring such action due to fears of persecution. The Trump administration acknowledges the deportation was an error but claims Garcia’s alleged affiliation with MS-13 makes him ineligible to return, which Garcia’s family and attorneys dispute.
