Lawyers for Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil argued that the government failed to prove his presence in the U.S. poses an adverse foreign policy consequence, as the Trump administration claims for his deportation. Khalil, a green card holder, faces deportation based on a memo from Secretary of State Marco Rubio alleging his involvement in antisemitic activities, a charge his attorneys refute. The immigration judge will make a decision on Khalil’s case on Friday, with potential further litigation if deemed removable.
