The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for strong winds in coastal areas of the UK on Thursday ahead of Storm Eowyn’s arrival less than 24 hours later. Gusts of up to 60mph are expected along exposed coastlines in western Wales, southwest England, and the southern coast of England. An amber “danger to life” warning will be in place for northern England, Wales, and southern Scotland on Friday, with forecasted winds of up to 90mph, along with snow and heavy rain. Additionally, there is a yellow wind warning for the north of Scotland, Northern Ireland, south of England, and Midlands on Friday as Storm Eowyn is anticipated to bring widespread disruption and potential dangers.
