A storm in Northern California brought record rain and heavy snow, while in Seattle, nearly 265,000 people were without power due to fallen branches and debris. The East Coast saw rain that could help ease rare wildfires in New York and New Jersey. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for areas north of San Francisco as the region experienced the strongest atmospheric river of the season, causing damage and two fatalities in Washington cities.
