Alzheimer’s Research UK reports that two out of three people with dementia in the UK are women, with women over 60 being twice as likely to develop dementia than breast cancer. Factors such as lipid metabolism, vascular risk responses, heart health, hormonal changes, and autoimmune disorders may contribute to the higher dementia risk in women.
