Starfish Space is set to conduct its first commercial satellite docking with the Otter Pup 2 mission, targeting the D-Orbit ION spacecraft using an electrostatic capture mechanism. This mission follows a previous failed attempt due to thruster issues, and will employ two ThrustMe thrusters for propulsion. The Otter Pup 2 will be launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket into a 510 km sun-synchronous orbit, with plans to eventually service existing satellites, featuring clients like NASA and the U.S. Space Force starting from 2026.
