Shaun Rooney, a 28-year-old Scots footballer, appeared in court for allegedly assaulting a woman at a chip shop in Glasgow. He is accused of pushing and seizing the woman, twisting her arm, and kicking her, as well as behaving in a threatening manner. The alleged offense was aggravated by prejudice related to sexual orientation, and a trial is set for April next year, with a bail condition prohibiting Rooney from entering the chip shop.
