The fish plant in St. Mary’s, Newfoundland, has been destroyed by fire amid hurricane-force winds and heavy rain. Mayor Steve Ryan reported that the building, owned by St. Mary’s Bay Fisheries, was largely lost before fire crews could respond due to the extreme weather conditions, with winds reaching 172 km/h.
