Special counsel asks judge to dismiss subversion case against Trump

Former President Trump is accused of conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstructing an official proceeding during the certification of Biden’s win on Jan 6, 2021, when a mob of his supporters attacked the session of Congress. He is also accused of trying to disenfranchise US voters with false claims of winning the 2020 election. A federal judge in Florida, appointed by Trump, dismissed a case where Trump was accused of mishandling top secret documents, prompting the dropping of the appeal; Trump also faces state cases in New York and Georgia.
