The Indian Cabinet Committee on Security, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the third phase of the Space Based Surveillance project, involving the launch of 52 spy satellites to enhance the country’s surveillance capabilities against security threats from Pakistan and China. The project, costing around Rs 27,000 crore, aims to improve monitoring of India’s borders and will utilize artificial intelligence for more effective data gathering and analysis.
