The parents of two girls murdered at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport spoke about their daughters’ final moments, calling Bebe King, six, their “light and joy” and describing Elsie Dot, seven, as “born special” and “fearless”. In their first television interview since the tragedy, Bebe’s parents tearfully recounted their last moments with her at Alder Hey’s Children’s Hospital, reading her a bedtime story. The families are seeking answers and support a public inquiry after 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana was sentenced to life in prison for the murders and attempted murders, in hopes of bringing change and improved protections for children.
