South Korean anti-corruption agency asks police to detain impeached Yoon

South Korea’s anti-corruption agency has requested police to take over efforts to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol after a standoff with the presidential security service. The agency and police are discussing extending the one-week warrant for Yoon’s detention, as investigators consider charges of rebellion for declaring martial law on Dec. 3. The Seoul Western District Court had issued a warrant for Yoon’s detention on Dec. 31, following his refusal to appear for questioning.
