South Korean law enforcement officers detain impeached President Yoon

South Korean law enforcement officials detained impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol over his imposition of martial law, leading to his compliance with a detention warrant and his arrival at the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials. Yoon’s lawyers failed to prevent the detention, despite his willingness to voluntarily appear for questioning, as more than a thousand investigators and police officers were deployed to apprehend him after previous attempts were blocked by the presidential security service. Despite a court warrant for Yoon’s detention, the security service has fortified the compound, but investigators managed to enter and confront the impeached president.
