A South Carolina jury awarded $700 million to the family of 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel, who was kidnapped and murdered in Myrtle Beach in 2009. Raymond Moody, the perpetrator, was found guilty of causing emotional distress to Drexel’s family and received a life sentence. Moody’s girlfriend, Angel Cooper Vause, was sentenced to 18 years for her role in the crime, which remained a mystery for 13 years until Drexel’s remains were found in 2022.
