South Carolina Executes Inmate by Firing Squad

The state of South Carolina executed convicted murderer Brad Sigmon, 67, by firing squad, the first such execution in the US since 2010. Sigmon chose to be shot due to concerns about lethal injection. The execution took place in the Broad River Correctional Institution, with witnesses including the victims’ family and Sigmon’s spiritual adviser.
