South Africa’s Blitzboks defended their Cape Town Sevens title, becoming the first men’s team to win back-to-back in a decade, overcoming Argentina 21-19 with a last-minute try. Meanwhile, Australia’s Wallaroos triumphed over New Zealand 26-12 in the women’s final, ending a streak of four consecutive finals losses to them. The Blitzboks trailed at halftime but rallied with key tries, while Australia dominated the women’s match early on. The next leg of the sevens world series will be in Singapore from Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
