Care experts are urging the government to urgently reform adult social care, as long-awaited proposals may be delayed for three years. Ministers are introducing a National Care Service to assist the NHS, with additional funding for home improvements for the elderly and disabled. An independent commission led by Baroness Louise Casey will provide recommendations for medium and long-term reforms, but significant benefits may not be seen until the early 2030s.
