Snapchat has introduced a new ‘AR Pichkari’ lens just in time for Holi 2024. This lens, created by a third-party developer, allows users to virtually splash their friends with colors using their smartphone’s rear camera, mimicking the traditional use of a pichkari (water gun) during the festive season of Holi. The platform offers a variety of lenses that utilize augmented reality (AR) technology for interactive experiences.
The new AR Pichkari lens, developed by Ronin Labs, is now available to all Snapchat users. To access this lens, users can search for it in the Snapchat app’s search bar or simply click on this link to directly view and use the AR Pichkari lens.
Once you have selected the AR Pichkari lens, switch to the rear camera on Snapchat and aim it at your friends. The AR technology will detect your friend’s location on the screen and start spraying them with virtual colors as you move your phone, resembling the action of using a pichkari.
You can play around with the AR Pichkari filter to virtually spray your friends with Holi colors while monitoring the color bar on the left side of the screen to track the remaining colors. As you reach halfway through the process, the message “Holi Hai!” will appear on the screen, as revealed by Snapchat.
The AR Pichkari lens is currently accessible on Snapchat, allowing users to enjoy this fun feature ahead of Holi 2024. Additionally, users can access the AR lens by scanning the Snapcode on iOS and Android devices with the latest version of the Snapchat app.
