The U.S. Congress has removed $400 million from a list of programs targeted for cuts by the Trump administration; however, this decision does not restore funding for global HIV and TB programs that were reduced in February. Consequently, HIV projects in South Africa that previously received U.S. support will remain closed and will not be restarted.
