Singapore badminton player Jessica Tan retires at 31

Jessica Tan, one of Singapore’s top badminton players, announced her retirement after a successful career marked by injuries and a desire to pursue studies in sport management. She won Singapore’s first mixed doubles gold at the Commonwealth Games and competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing third in their group. Tan will receive a post-career gratuity payout from the Singapore Badminton Association and plans to study sports management in the UK, supported by a scholarship for retired athletes.
