Footage from a body camera captures the moment a man is rescued after falling into the Hudson River on Manhattan’s West Side.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) and Fire Department New York (FDNY) quickly responded to a call for help at around 7am.
Upon arrival at the scene near Pier 57 in the Chelsea neighborhood, officers discovered a 43-year-old man stuck shivering in the water.
Rescuers equipped with special gear descended into the river to assist the man in staying afloat, while others on the pier set up a ladder to help him out.
The man was taken to a hospital for evaluation and was reported to be in good condition.
Authorities mentioned that the cause of the man’s fall into the river was unclear.
