Shipping majors make green hydrogen call at COP29

At the UN climate talks at COP29 in Baku, over 50 prominent names in shipping, including Fortescue, GasLog, and Mitsui OSK Lines, have signed a green hydrogen call to action to prioritize investment in hydrogen-derived fuels for emission reduction. The commitment aims for 5-10% of energy in the maritime sector to come from zero or near-zero emissions sources by 2030, with Fortescue advocating for a zero emissions fuel standard over transitional fuels to drive real decarbonization solutions.
